Why bullseye windows are making a comeback in contemporary design
Bull’s-eye windows are round windows, often found in historic buildings in Washington, DC neighborhoods such as Capitol Hill, Dupont Circle, and Georgetown, but rarely found in modern construction.
A Bull’s-eye window may be also referred to as a winoeil-de-boeuf, œil de bœuf, ox-eye window.
The darkened areas of the sandstone bullseye window frame show signs of bio-colonization in the porous and soft sandstone surface layers.
