Wardman Style Architecture: History, Design, and Influence

Explore the legacy – Wardman style architecture in modern urban planning

The Wardman style of architecture is one of the classic historic types of building and architectural styles in Capitol Hill and other historic neighborhoods of Washington DC such as Dupont Circle in Georgetown.

The Wardman architecture is considered to be a simple yet effective construction style.  Some sources claim that Wardman style buildings are made from superior materials but this generalized statement is not accurate. Overall many of the different styles of construction of historic homes in Washington DC are made from quality materials and the Wardman style buildings were made not just by the original developer: Wardman, but also by several other unrelated builders.
