Why roof scuppers and conductor heads are vital – Uncover the secrets!
Roof suppers and conductor heads are often used on fully bunded or bounded rooftops. Sculptures are essentially an opening or aperture through a parapet or rooftop knee wall which allows water to escape from the roof. In most cases the rooftop or section of the rooftop will be graded towards the scupper opening or aperature. A particular saddle flashing or similiar will be installed over the interstitial or continuous wall space and then water will be conveyed into a into a conductor head. The conductor head is like a collection box at the top of a downspout. From that conductor head water will be conveyed down the down spout and away from the building.
In the picture below you can see a conductor head and scupper on the exterior side of a building wall at the roof level.
The picture below shows a wider angle view of the same scupper and conductor head. In this image below you can see both the scupper and collection head conductor head and some if the gable roof behind the exterior wall. If this angle of view is elevated and from the ground you would not normally see any aspect of the actual rooftop.
